2023 Agape Picnic for Foster Families https://agapevillages.org/2023-agape-picnic-for-foster-families/ Fri, 09 Jun 2023 20:39:51 +0000 https://agapevillages.org/?p=6987 On Saturday, June 3, Agape foster families, children and youth came together for our annual picnic. It was a time of fun, laughter and food. A live petting zoo. A train. Face painting. Balloons. A photo booth. Games. And of course lots of food. Everyone had so much fun. It was wonderful to see the children enjoying themselves, just having fun, running around, being kids, free of worry. Parents talking with each other. Thanks to people like you, the kids knew they were safe, loved, and secure.

Tri-Valley Jail ’n Bail 2021 https://agapevillages.org/tri-valley-jail-n-bail-2021/ Mon, 25 Oct 2021 16:58:00 +0000 http://agapevillages.org/?p=5117 What a great event raising money for the foster kids of Agape Villages! Our annual Jail ‘n Bail event on October 21st did not disappoint and we raised almost $14,000! We are truly so thankful for everyone who donated and supported the event. We all enjoyed food, drinks, and great company as donors and friends dressed up in jail costumes and went to jail to raise funds for the kids. They posted their pictures on social media, called family & friends and asked for bail money. Our judges were harsh and threw the book at many of our jailbirds.

A huge thank you to Todd Utical, owner of SideTrack Bar + Grill, for once again donating his patio space. And to Kathy Narum and Randy Brown for donating their time as judges.

Tri-Valley Jail n Bail 2020 https://agapevillages.org/tri-valley-jail-n-bail-2020/ Thu, 22 Oct 2020 14:42:31 +0000 http://agapevillages.org/?p=2802 What a great event raising money for the foster kids of Agape Villages! Our annual Jail ‘N Bail event did not disappoint and we raised the most money we have ever raised at any previous Jail ‘N Bail events. Abiding by all Alameda county COVID guidelines, everyone wore face masks and respected the 6 feet social distancing rule. We are truly so thankful for everyone who donated and supported the event. We all enjoyed food, drinks, and great company as  donors and friends dressed up in jail costumes and went to jail to raise funds for the kids. They posted their pictures on social media, called family & friends and asked for bail money. Our judges were harsh and threw the book at many of our jailbirds, especially Jennifer and Daryn Oxe who had their bail set at a record $2000 – and they exceeded that amount by a big margin.

A huge thank you to Todd Utical, owner of SideTrack Bar + Grill, for once again donating his patio space. And to Kathy Narum and Randy Brown for donating their time as judges.

7th Annual Roseville Dinner & Silent Auction https://agapevillages.org/7th-annual-roseville-dinner-silent-auction/ Thu, 23 May 2019 20:28:40 +0000 http://agapevillages.org/?p=1258

We had a packed house for our 7th Annual Dinner, with Live and Silent Auctions, in Roseville. The theme was “Be a Hero, Save a Child” and wow did we have some heroes! Because of the kindness of all who attended and our sponsors, like Goldrush Getaways who was our event sponsor, we raised over $21,000 to help kids in foster care through the programs we offer here at Agape Villages.

The auction prizes, which included two 4-day cruises to Mexico, the music and speakers made for a fun evening as we focused on the need of the over 90 kids that currently have homes with resource families (formerly foster families) through Agape Villages.

Thank you so much for those who provided for and attended this event. We can’t do it without you!

We continue to look for resource families, volunteers and donors, so we can help even more of the ~50,000 kids in foster care in California. Please reach out if you can help.

Spring in the Valley Annual Dinner in Manteca https://agapevillages.org/spring-in-the-valley-annual-dinner-in-manteca/ Tue, 16 Apr 2019 04:28:50 +0000 http://agapevillages.org/?p=1217 We are so fortunate for the people who help Agape serve children in foster care. We periodically put on fundraising events like the Spring in the Valley Annual Dinner in Manteca on March 30. This was only the second Spring in the Valley event we’ve put on and it was an amazing success all around.

We raised over $15,000 to benefit the children that we provide homes for through the resource parents (formerly foster parents) trained and certified by Agape. We are so thankful for all those who filled the room full to listen to our speakers, enjoy an amazing steak & chicken dinner, raffle prizes, and auctions. How often do you get go to an event like this and choose from all these delicious desserts?

Thanks to those who volunteer to put on events like this, those who donate to Agape and our sponsors, like A. Teeples Plumbing, we’re able to make a difference in the lives of so many children.

If you weren’t able to attend this wonderful event, consider coming to one of our other events. We have them all over the Bay Area, Central Valley, and Greater Sacramento Area. We can’t wait to see you!

2nd Annual Carnival in San Leandro https://agapevillages.org/2nd-annual-carnival-in-san-leandro/ Thu, 04 Oct 2018 21:37:04 +0000 http://agapevillages.org/?p=1071

The Agape Villages carnival was held at the Principled Academy School in San Leandro on September 22nd. We had a well-rounded group of folks and kids attend who were representative of the community. Carnival rides were provided by “Fun and Games” and included a tea-cup ride, train ride, jumping house and a dunk tank. Games were donated, by the Boy Scouts of America “Eagle Scouts” project, which included a bean bag toss, golf game, and several other competitive games that provided stuffed animals for game winners.
The San Leandro Times, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, Davis Street Community Services, and the Principled Academy helped publicize our event to the community. Thank you to Isaac Durst, for hosting our carnival location and helping us to get the word out in the community. Thank you to Alberto, who is an exchange student all the way from Spain, and who helped us all day long by making snow cones, and to Jorge Gomez of USGA, Inc who donated all of the hot dogs and buns, and to Kevin and Michael Youngblood of USGA, Inc. who donated their time, equipment and participated in helping with the games, set up and clean up. We couldn’t have done it without you guys!
